Database Architect

The successful applicant will need to understand and maintain computer systems, to write software, set up pipelines, test data and code, and process information for our birth cohort study.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Developing standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information 
   

• Testing programs or databases, correcting errors and making necessary modifications
   

• Working as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations

Requirements:

We are looking for a critical thinking database expert with excellent problem solving skills. Experience with setting up and handling large databases is essential. Knowledge and experience  with MYSQL databases, PHP, C, Perl, Java, UNIX/LINUX  is important.  A Bachelor or Master Degree in Computing or its equivalent with 2 - 3 years of relevant experience with science background would be an asset.
